Merus and Urban Sites mark the topping out at The Bavarian Apartments in Covington

COVINGTON, Kentucky (July 28, 2026) – Merus and Urban Sites are prepared to top out The Bavarian Apartments, marking a major construction milestone for the 125-unit residential community taking shape above the new Kenton County Government Center garage.

The milestone will mark completion of the building’s structural framework and brings the project one step closer to delivering new housing in one of Northern Kentucky’s most active urban corridors. Construction began in December 2025. The team is now moving forward with interior construction, façade work, and site improvements.

The Bavarian Apartments are the result of years of coordination among public and private partners focused on Covington’s continued growth. The project is supported by Republic Bank and The Catalytic Fund and has advanced through close collaboration with Kenton County, the City of Covington, and Covington Independent Schools.

Once complete, The Bavarian Apartments will bring 125 new residences to a highly visible gateway location near major employers and community destinations, including St. Elizabeth Healthcare, the Northern Kentucky Health Department, Kenton County offices, and Covington Independent Schools. The project also benefits from improved regional connectivity near the recently rebuilt interstate interchange.

The Bavarian Apartments build on the successful partnership between Merus and Urban Sites, who previously collaborated on The Hayden, a 133-unit mixed-use redevelopment of the former Kenton County administration building in downtown Covington.

Completion is expected by May 2027, with leasing anticipated to begin ahead of delivery.
